Toxic to pets

Every part of a yew except the red flesh of the berry is extremely poisonous, to people as much as to pets: the taxine it contains affects the heart, and even a small amount can be fatal. Never eat any part, keep children away from the berries (the seed inside is poisonous), and keep pets away from the plant and from clippings. If a person eats any, get medical advice at once; if a pet does, contact a vet immediately.
