Toxic to pets
The seeds of wintersweet, and also its leaves and stems, contain a nerve poison that can cause convulsions, so it can be dangerous to a person or a pet that eats them. Keep the seed pods out of children's reach and stop cats and dogs chewing it. Get medical advice straight away if a person has eaten any, and contact a vet if an animal has.
