Toxic to pets

Umbrella plant is a skin allergen and irritant: handling it can give some people a rash, so wear gloves when cutting it and wash your hands afterwards. Dogs and cats that chew the leaves get a burning mouth, drooling, sickness and difficulty swallowing. For a skin reaction get medical advice; if a pet chews the plant, ring your vet.
