Safe around pets
Sycamore seeds and seedlings contain hypoglycin A and cause atypical myopathy in horses and ponies, which is often fatal. It is not a hazard to dogs, cats or people. If you keep or graze horses, do not let seeds or seedlings blow onto the paddock, fence off the area under the canopy in autumn and spring, and call the vet at once if a horse is weak, stiff or has dark urine.
→ Your vet, urgently, for a horse or pony; no action needed for dogs, cats or people
