Toxic to pets

The bulb of summer hyacinth is harmful if eaten, and the risk is greatest at planting time when bulbs are out of the ground where a child could pick one up; assume the same risk for pets. Store bulbs out of reach and clear up after planting. Get medical advice if a child has swallowed any, and contact a vet if a pet has.
