Grows to 4-8 metres. Space about 400-800cm apart.

Strawberry tree fruit is edible when fully ripe - it is sweet but bland, and in some countries it is made into jam or liqueur - though in Britain the tree is usually grown for looks rather than for eating. There is no known poison in it, but as with any fruit eaten in quantity a very large helping may give a person or a pet a mild stomach upset. If a child or a pet eats a great deal and seems unwell, get medical advice for a person or contact your vet for an animal.
