Grows well with
Borage — A two-year field trial put borage and other flowers in a strip beside strawberries: the further the plants were from that strip, the fewer pollinators and the lighter the berries. Borage is also said to keep pests off the strawberries.Garlic — Plant garlic among your strawberries, cut it down and spread the chopped leaves over the bed every couple of weeks: the scent is meant to keep greenfly off the fruit.Lettuce — Strawberries are named as a good neighbour for lettuce. Mixing unlike crops is held to help them along, partly because the scents put feeding pests off.
