Toxic to pets
Star of Bethlehem is harmful to people if eaten and toxic to pets: it contains cardiac glycosides, and eating it, especially the bulbs, causes sickness; larger amounts affect the heart and can be dangerous. Keep bulbs away from children and pets and never store them with food. If a person eats any, get medical advice; if a pet does, contact a vet.
