Toxic to pets

The milky sap of the rubber plant is an irritant: it can make skin sore and should be kept out of the eyes, so wear gloves when cutting or repotting it and wash off any sap. Dogs and cats that chew it get an irritated mouth and an upset stomach. For a skin or eye reaction get medical advice; if a pet chews the plant, ring your vet.
