Toxic to pets
Rhododendron can be dangerous: every part, including the nectar and honey made from it, contains grayanotoxins and is harmful to people if eaten, causing vomiting, weakness and heart trouble, so keep children from chewing leaves or flowers. Dogs and cats are seriously at risk, and a few leaves can be fatal. If a person eats any, get medical advice (call the emergency number if they are unwell); if a pet does, ring your vet straight away.
