Grows well with
Carrot — Drop a single radish seed in every 15–30cm along the carrot row. Carrots are slow to come up, so the quick radishes show you where the row runs, and they are pulled long before the carrots need the room.Cucumber — Cucumbers and winter radish are an unfavourable pairing - do not put them in the same row.Lettuce — Lettuce is a useful filler around radishes: it matures fast and takes up the gaps while the zone fills out.Pea — A single row of radishes fits neatly between two rows of peas and will be pulled long before the peas need the room.Potato — Radishes are listed as a poor neighbour for potatoes, so keep the two in separate zones.Sweet Corn — Radishes are ready long before sweetcorn closes over, so a row between the corn plants earns its space.

Growing notes

Grows to 0.1-0.5 metres. Space about 10-50cm apart. At its best in spring.
