Toxic to pets

Privet berries and leaves are harmful to people if eaten, causing sickness and stomach upset, and the black berries are what a child is most likely to pick. Dogs and cats that eat them are affected in the same way, especially in quantity. If a person eats any, get medical advice; if a pet does, ring your vet.
