Toxic to pets
The kernels inside the stones and the leaves, including wilted ones, contain compounds that release cyanide, so they can be harmful to people and pets if chewed and eaten; the fruit flesh is safe. Don't crack and eat the kernels, and keep stones, prunings and fallen leaves away from pets. If a person eats kernels or leaves, get medical advice; if a pet chews them, contact a vet.
