Grows to 0.5-1 metres. Space about 50-100cm apart. In flower May-Jun.
Toxic to pets
Peony can upset a dog's or cat's stomach if eaten, the roots most of all, causing vomiting or diarrhoea, and the trade body notes it can irritate a pet's skin. Keep pets from chewing it and from digging at the roots; the record lists no hazard to people. If a pet eats any, contact a vet.
