Growing notes

In flower April to May.

Toxic to pets

Every part of the fresh pasque flower holds a substance that blisters skin and burns the mouth: sap on the skin causes inflammation and blistering, and chewing any part causes severe pain in the mouth, in a person or a pet. Wear gloves to handle it and keep children and animals from picking or chewing it. Get medical advice if a child has chewed any part, and contact a vet if a pet has.
