Grows to 4-8 metres. Space about 400-800cm apart. In flower Feb-Mar.

Toxic to pets

The bitter yellow sap just under the leaf skin of fan aloe gives people stomach cramps and diarrhoea if eaten and can irritate skin, so keep children from chewing the leaves and wear gloves when cutting them. A cat or dog that chews a leaf gets vomiting, diarrhoea and lethargy. Get medical advice if a person has swallowed any, and contact a vet if a pet has.
