Toxic to pets

Every part of jatropha is poisonous and the seeds are the worst: three or four are enough to make a child seriously ill with vomiting, cramps and dehydration, and the milky sap burns skin and eyes. Remove seed pods where children can reach them, wear gloves when pruning, and keep pets from chewing it. Get medical advice straight away if a person has swallowed any, and contact a vet if a pet has.
