Toxic to pets
Japanese anemone has an irritant sap, like others in the buttercup family: crushed leaves or stems can make skin sore, so wear gloves when you cut it back and wash your hands afterwards. Dogs and cats that chew it get a sore mouth, drooling and sickness. For a skin reaction get medical advice; if a pet chews the plant, ring your vet.
