Toxic to pets

Handling hyacinth bulbs irritates the skin, so wear gloves when planting and wash your hands afterwards. For dogs and cats the bulbs are the most dangerous part and can cause heavy vomiting and diarrhoea, so keep them out of reach. If your skin reacts badly, get medical advice; if a pet eats a bulb, contact a vet.
