Toxic to pets
Handling hop bines can irritate the skin or trigger an allergic reaction, so wear gloves and long sleeves when training or harvesting them. For dogs, hops are dangerous: eating them can cause a rapid and sometimes fatal rise in body temperature. For a bad skin reaction get medical advice; if a dog eats hops, contact a vet immediately.
