Growing notes

Grows to 4-8 metres. Space about 250-400cm apart. In flower May-Sep.

Toxic to pets

Flannel bush irritates skin and eyes, in people and in pets, so wear gloves, long sleeves and eye protection when pruning it and keep it back from paths where it brushes against passers-by. Rinse your eyes with clean water if they are affected and get medical advice if irritation persists; ring your vet if an animal's eyes or skin are affected.

→ NHS 111 or your GP for a person; your vet for an animal
