Toxic to pets

Daphne can be dangerous to people: every part is toxic if eaten, the berries most of all, causing severe stomach upset, and the sap irritates the skin, so wear gloves and keep children away from the berries. Dogs and cats are at the same risk, with severe stomach upset and kidney damage. If a person eats any, get medical advice or call the emergency number; if a pet does, ring your vet straight away.
