Grows well with
Borage — Borage is listed as a good neighbour for cucumbers, pulling in bees for the flowers and predatory insects for the pests.Beetroot — Cucumbers are named as a good neighbour for beetroot. Mixed planting is held to let different crops help each other, partly through scent that puts pests off.Dill — Dill is recommended as a partner for cucumbers. It is said to put off aphids, mites and some beetles, and its flowers bring in hoverflies and predatory wasps that deal with pests for you.Radish — Cucumbers and winter radish are an unfavourable pairing - do not put them in the same row.Lettuce — Cucumbers are named as a good neighbour for lettuce. Mixing unlike crops is held to help them along, partly because the scents put feeding pests off.Potato — Cucumbers are listed as a poor neighbour for potatoes, so keep the two in separate zones.
