Toxic to pets

Croton has an irritant sap: it can make skin sore and should be kept out of the eyes, so wear gloves when pruning or repotting and wash off any sap. Dogs and cats that chew it get an irritated mouth, drooling and sickness. For a skin reaction get medical advice; if a pet chews the plant, ring your vet.
