Toxic to pets

Spring crocus bulbs are ornamental and not for eating; the trade body rates them low toxicity for people, but a large amount is still a concern, so keep bulbs away from children and never store them with food, and don't confuse this plant with the severely poisonous autumn crocus (Colchicum). In dogs and cats eating the plant causes a mild stomach upset. If a person eats a lot, get medical advice; if a pet eats any, contact a vet.
