Growing notes

Grows to 4-8 metres. Space about 400-800cm apart. In flower Apr-May.

Toxic to pets

Brachyglottis sap irritates skin on contact, so wear gloves when you cut it back and wash your hands afterwards. Dogs, cats and horses that chew the leaves take in pyrrolizidine alkaloids that damage the liver, so stop them eating it. For a skin reaction get medical advice; if a pet has chewed the leaves, ring your vet.
