Toxic to pets
Begonia tubers are ornamental and not for eating: the plant is rated low toxicity for people, but a large amount may cause mild symptoms, and a tuber could choke a small child. For dogs and cats, chewing the plant burns the mouth, causing drooling and vomiting, and the tubers are the most poisonous part. If a child eats a quantity, get medical advice; if a pet chews it, ring your vet.
