Toxic to pets
Asparagus fern berries are harmful to people if eaten, and handling the plant can give some people a rash, so wear gloves and keep the berries from children. Dogs and cats that eat the berries get vomiting, stomach pain and diarrhoea, and repeated contact can irritate their skin. If a person eats the berries, get medical advice; if a pet does, ring your vet.
