Toxic to pets

Aralia's raw unripe berries, bark and roots are poisonous if eaten, causing drooling, vomiting and diarrhoea, and handling the bark and roots can cause an allergic skin reaction, so wear gloves and mind the spines when pruning. Dogs and cats that chew the berries, bark or roots are at the same risk. If a person eats any, get medical advice; if a pet does, ring your vet.
