Mulch and no-dig

In no-dig, a yearly compost mulch is the whole method: feed from the top and let worms dig it in.

Notes

It also removes the hardest job in the garden, which helps if digging is hard on your back or joints, and home-made compost keeps the yearly mulch cheap.
