How to apply
Wear gloves when handling mulch and compost, and open bags at arm's length in the open air to avoid breathing in dust, as these materials can carry fungi and bacteria that may make you ill; wash your hands afterwards.

Spread 5 to 8cm over the soil, keeping it off plant stems and tree trunks.

Mulch piled against stems causes rot.
