Winter heating
Use only a heater rated for damp or outdoor use, run it on an RCD-protected supply, and keep it clear of leaves and standing water. If you use a paraffin or gas heater, leave a vent open so fumes cannot build up.

A thermostatic heater or bubble insulation keeps it frost-free.

Frost-free means about 3 to 5C, not a reading just above 0C: cold pockets away from the heater still dip below freezing.
