| BoxBuxus sempervirens · Hedging | Photographe non enregistré | Licence non enregistrée | MERGED v9.42 into PG-0037. A clipped hedge and the same plant grown free share the same leaf and the same flower and differ only in whether a gardener clips them, so one picture serves both. The browse and pick screen exists to identify the plant; choosing hedge or tree afterwards is a tap, not a picture. This also removes a slot the free sources could never fill, because nobody photographs their box edging and submits it for species verification. Picture that was on this row, kept for the record: https://inaturalist-open-data.s3.amazonaws.com/photos/611685121/original.jpg | Clipped or managed as a hedge. The same plant grown free stands in Trees or Shrubs; a hedge is a different silhouette, so it is its own photograph. | Species shown: Buxus sempervirens. Photo: Sarah Adamson, CC0 1.0, via iNaturalist / GBIF, research-grade observation 6133165711 REVIEW: the species is right but the picture may not look like the plant a gardener expects. It is a field observation of the species, so it may not show a clipped hedge. |

| MERGED v9.45 into PG-0513. This group was left behind in v9.22. It listed two plant IDs in one cell and both of those plants had been repointed to their own groups, so nothing in the catalogue pointed at this row and no gardener could ever have seen its picture. Its shape, "Trailing", is the same shape PG-0513 already carries for Butternut Squash, Cucurbita moschata. Picture that was on this row, kept for the record: https://inaturalist-open-data.s3.amazonaws.com/photos/618217891/original.jpg | STAGE CHECK, v9.42. New rule: a crop must be shown at the stage it is grown to, not at the stage that makes it identifiable to a botanist. Wild carrot in flower is a correct photograph of Daucus carota and useless, because carrots are pulled a year before they flower. Confirmed failures of this kind: carrot in flower, radish flowering with no root in shot, leek shown as wild leek in flower. This picture has not been checked against the rule. | More than one catalogue row shares this silhouette and they collapse to one photograph under the dedup rule. | Species shown: Cucurbita moschata. Photo: Gabriel Cardoso Fialho, CC0 1.0, via iNaturalist / GBIF, research-grade observation 6163251308 The trailing group is shown with C. moschata so it does not repeat the bush C. pepo or the pumpkin C. maxima pictures |
| CelosiaCelosia · Bedding and annuals | Photographe non enregistré | Licence non enregistrée | Left blank. Every photograph of Celosia cristata and of Celosia argentea var. cristata on GBIF is either NC or all rights reserved, so there is no shippable picture of the folded brain like crest. The only image available is the one already on group PG-0643. | EOL v9.35: Searched EOL for Celosia cristata and Celosia argentea. Ids tried: 52193108 (3 items, all CC BY-NC-SA 2.0), 49953216 (1, CC BY-NC 3.0), 51603694 (0), 51593611 (0), 49903489 (1, CC BY-NC-SA 3.0), 67832417 (1 item, a genuine folded cockscomb, "AMARANTHACEAE - Cockscomb Flower (Celosia argentea L. var. cristata)" by Kai Yan, Joseph Wong, but CC BY-NC-SA 2.0 so rejected), 68492519 (0), 50116322 (0), 585463 Celosia argentea (51 items, read in full including the whole 12 item Wikimedia block) and genus 23769034 (67 items, tail truncated). Licence-clear photographs do exist on 585463 and 23769034, but every one shows either the wild spike form or var. plumosa feathery plumes, never the thick folded brain like crest; the only PD item on 585463 is an Alida Withoos painting, not a photograph. Blank on shape, not on licence: no free licensed photograph of the crested form was found. |

Photo: Fritz Geller-Grimm, CC BY-SA 3.0, via Wikimedia Commons via EOL. Original item: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Prunus_laurocerasus_fg01.jpg. Shape evidence: description 'Prunus laurocerasus, Nied, Frankfurt/Main, Germany'. A plain plant shot from a German suburb, species level only. Nothing in the item says clipped or hedge.. Was blank in v9.34 because GBIF had nothing usable; found through Encyclopedia of Life in v9.35. |

| Chitalpa× Chitalpa · Trees | Photographe non enregistré | Licence non enregistrée | Added in v9.22 with the plant row. | Left blank. Chitalpa tashkentensis has no human observation records with a photograph on GBIF. Every image held is attached to a preserved specimen, which does not show a rounded spreading crown. | EOL v9.35: Searched EOL for Chitalpa and Chitalpa tashkentensis; 25 page ids returned, seven tried at images_per_page=75 (48951941, 48951942, 50930979, 53580977, 57423435, 66226734, 67045766). Only two hold media, 48951941 (×Chitalpa) and 48951942 (×Chitalpa tashkentensis), and they hold the same six CalPhotos photographs by Zoya Akulova, sequence numbers 749164 to 749169, each described 'Hybrid of Chilopsis linearis and Catalpa bignonioides'. Every one is http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/3.0/. Twelve media items read in total, all NC. Blank on licence, not on availability. | WINTER: Left blank, unchanged from the earlier pass. Chitalpa tashkentensis has 34 records with a photograph worldwide and none of them are in Europe, so nothing survives the country rule. |
