| Fennel (veg)Foeniculum vulgare var. azoricum · Vegetables | Ο φωτογράφος δεν έχει καταγραφεί | Η άδεια δεν έχει καταγραφεί | Blank on licence. GBIF holds only four photographed human observations named var. azoricum and every media item is CC BY-NC, which a paid app cannot use | EOL v9.35: Searched EOL for "Foeniculum vulgare azoricum" and "Foeniculum vulgare". Both azoricum ids hold zero dataObjects: 49996121 and 72345820 (Anethum foeniculum var. azoricum). The species page 585008 was read unfiltered at images_per_page=75, 52 media items, of which seven are shippable: CalPhotos publicdomain (Stan Spencer), USDA CC0 (Steve Hurst), Wikimedia CC BY-SA 3.0 (Javier martin, collected wild in Sierra Madrona), CC BY-SA 4.0, and two CC BY 4.0 iNaturalist items (Jon Sullivan). Two further public domain items were rejected under the book scan rule: a Flore medicale plate via Flickr BHL and a Britton and Brown line drawing via USDA PLANTS. No item anywhere on the page mentions azoricum, Florence, finocchio or a bulb; all show wild fennel. Blank on shape, not on licence: wild fennel is not the swollen-based vegetable this row needs. |

| MERGED v9.42 into PG-0001. A clipped hedge and the same plant grown free share the same leaf and the same flower and differ only in whether a gardener clips them, so one picture serves both. The browse and pick screen exists to identify the plant; choosing hedge or tree afterwards is a tap, not a picture. This also removes a slot the free sources could never fill, because nobody photographs their box edging and submits it for species verification. Picture that was on this row, kept for the record: https://inaturalist-open-data.s3.amazonaws.com/photos/630028564/original.jpg | Clipped or managed as a hedge. The same plant grown free stands in Trees or Shrubs; a hedge is a different silhouette, so it is its own photograph. | Species shown: Acer campestre. Photo: Stephen James McWilliam, CC0 1.0, via iNaturalist / GBIF, research-grade observation 6185834191 REVIEW: the species is right but the picture may not look like the plant a gardener expects. It is a field observation of the species, so it may not show a clipped hedge. | WINTER: Photo: Hopefully Acceptable Username, CC BY-SA 3.0, via Wikimedia Commons via EOL. Original item: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Valentines_Park_Maple_(1).jpg. Winter evidence: 'The Valentines Park Maple, one of the Great Trees of London. Date: 9 November 2022, 14:06:12.' - November date plus an explicit northern hemisphere location (Valentines Park, Ilford, London, England). No word bare or leafless appears in the item.. Added v9.35 from Encyclopedia of Life. |
The squat dwarf bun is a cultivar shape only, such as Abies balsamea Nana or Abies koreana Silberlocke, and GBIF human observations carry no cultivar names, so every openly licensed Abies photograph shows a full sized conical tree. The only image available is the one already on group PG-0517. | EOL v9.35: Searched EOL for "Abies" and read the genus page 13998 unfiltered at images_per_page=75: 67 media items, 35 of them CC BY 4.0 by Steven J. Baskauf via Bioimages Vanderbilt, so licence is not the obstacle here. Every one is a wild full sized species tree (Abies concolor at Yosemite, Abies fraseri at Clingmans Dome and so on) and no item on the page carries Nana, dwarf, cultivar, Silberlocke, bun or prostrate in its title or description. Blank on shape: the squat dwarf bun is a cultivar silhouette and nothing openly licensed on EOL shows it. |

GBIF sinks Aruncus aethusifolius, the dwarf ferny goat's beard, into Aruncus dioicus, so both the name search and the accepted taxon key return photographs of the tall species, and a full text search finds no observation actually identified as the dwarf. The only image available is the one already on group PG-0574. | EOL v9.35: Searched EOL for "Aruncus aethusifolius" and "Aruncus dioicus". EOL has no page for aethusifolius at all; the searches return only dioicus, its infrataxa and Aruncus sylvester (22 ids). Page 633532, Aruncus dioicus, read unfiltered at images_per_page=75: 67 media items, 12 CC BY 4.0 (Steven J. Baskauf, Bioimages) and 4 CC0 (USDA PLANTS), all of the tall species. The single item that genuinely shows the dwarf plant is Biopix EOL-media-913-83310, source http://www.biopix.com/aruncus-aethusifolius_photo-83310.aspx, description "Botaniska tradgarden, Goteborg", rights holder G Drange, and its licence is http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/3.0/, so it is rejected. Blank: the only correct shape is NC, and the shippable items are the wrong shape. |

| HakonechloaHakonechloa macra · Grasses | Ο φωτογράφος δεν έχει καταγραφεί | Η άδεια δεν έχει καταγραφεί | Left blank on licence. Every photograph on the Hakonechloa macra human observation records carries a non-commercial or no-derivatives licence, which a paid app cannot ship. | EOL v9.35: Searched EOL for "Hakonechloa macra". Five ids tried at images_per_page=75: species page 5828848 (2 media items, both CC BY-NC 4.0, Keita Watanabe via iNaturalist), genus page 5846485 (2 items, both CC BY-NC 4.0), and the cultivar and form pages 69404143 (aureola), 57405502 (f. macra) and 47160979 (f. albo-aurea), all three holding zero dataObjects. Blank on licence, confirmed on a full pass rather than a twelve item pass. |
